I'll have my standard arsenal of cranks, and plan on trying them to see what happens. tells me that shad and grub jigs work better than cranks anyways, so bring a variaty of jig heads and plastics. Maybe some casting spoons if you plan on trying for pike, and some bullet spinners. V.V. So if you fall into that catagory, you might want to bring a variaty of spoons. Not just the indicator, but not being able to catch fish. I, like some others, am having trouble with cranks. "If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it." Maybe I, or we, will set up a private room, and if any of the posse would like to join you're more than welcome. will be in Alberta today, and I plan on being there myself this evening for a little "tune up". So best advice I can give is to ignore what the indicator is telling you and listen to what your common sense is telling you that your lure is doing.I know V.V. However, being a lifelong angler means I fully understand what my lure is doing at all times and depths ( regardless of type ), whereas non anglers who just play the game for fun may depend on that indicator. I simply ignore the indicator and continued fishing as normal, with no change to my catch rates. Spoons also appear to stay midwater and then suddenly dive to the deck halfway through a retrieve. Crankbaits in particular seem to behave very strangely on the indicator with anything over a 6 foot crank apparently diving to the deck and staying there. ![]() Hey fella, what I find personally is that the lure indicator doesn't reflect what the lure is actually doing, especially on deeper venues like Alberta and Mich. ![]() I broke down and got the Sport Heavy Casting package but it only casts 100 feet. Should the lure go all the way down to the bottom? Stop and go and twitch all look very strange. I thought I had improved my lure retrieves but Alberta is confusing me.
